Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, today’s topic is the benefits of memorizing Surah Kahf and the virtues of reading Surah al Kahf on Friday and other times.
Benefits of Surah Kahf
Memorizing Surah Kahf is Sunnah. The Prophet (PBUH) recalled his memorization of Surah Kahf as follows: Narrated Abdullah (PBUH): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, Surah Bani-Israel, Kahf, Maryam, Ta-ha, and Ambiya are among the first Surahs that I memorized and these are my first resources.”

Narrated Abdullah bin Masud (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, Surah Bani-Israel, Kahf, Maryam, Ta-ha and Ambiya are among my first earnings and my old wealth.”

Rasulullah (SAW) asked the believers to recite this Surah on Friday because its Noor (light) protects against the fitnah of the false Messiah Dajjal.
Narrated Abu Sa’eed (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, If a person recites Surah Kahf on Friday, a light will shine brightly for him until the next Friday.”
Kitab al-Dawah al-Kabir by Tirmidhi and Bayhaqi
Narrated Abu Saeed Khudri (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, its light will keep him alive until the next Friday.”
Nasa’i, Bayhaki, Hakim
Narrated Ibn Umar (RA): “The Prophet (PBUH) said: Whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday will be blessed with a light that reaches from his feet to the top of the sky. It will be the light of the Day of Judgment for him, and he will be forgiven for whatever he did between the two Jummas.”
Syed Saqib: It is stated in Fiqh-as-Sunnah that this hadith was recorded under the authority of Ibn Mardaabiyah.
So it is Sunnah who not only memorize Surah Kahf but also recite it every Friday.
The Prophet (PBUH) also said that if the Dajjal confronts a person, he should recite the first ten verses of the Surah on the Dajjal, then the Dajjal will not be able to harm him.
Narrated Abu Darda (RA): “The Messenger (PBUH) said: If a person memorizes the first ten verses of Surah Kahaf, he will be saved from the Dajjal.”

Whoever among you sees the Dajjal should recite the opening verses of Surah Kahf on the Dajjal.

Narrated Abu Darda (RA): “The Messenger (PBUH) said, ‘Whoever recites the first three verses of Surah Kahaf will be saved from the fitnah of Dajjal.”
