Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanah full dua in Arabic and English

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, Today’s topic of discussion is Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanah full dua in Arabic and English.

Rabbana Atina Fid Dunya Hasanah Dua

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِنَا فِی الدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَۃً وَّ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ حَسَنَۃً وَّ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Pronunciation: Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanataw wa fil akhirati hasanataw wa qina azaban nar.

Meaning: O our Lord! Give us goodness in the world. And bestow goodness in the Hereafter. And save us from the punishment (of Hellfire).

Surah Baqarah: Verse 201

Rabbana Atina Fid Dunya Hasanah Dua virtues

On the authority of Abdullah Ibnus Saib (RA):

He said I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say between two Rukans: “O our Lord! Give us the good of this world, give us the good of the Hereafter, and save us from the ‘punishment’ of Hell” (Surah al-Baqara: 201).

Abu Dawood 1892

Narrated Anas (RA):

He said, The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to make dua saying: اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ “O our Lord! Grant us good in this world and grant us good in the Hereafter and save us from the ‘punishment’ of Hell. (Sahih Bukhari: 4522).

Imam Ahmad said that Qatadah asked Anas (ra) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to eat more than any dua. He (replied) said, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ‘Rabbana Atina Fidduniya. . . . . . . . Waqbina ‘Azaban Nar’ used to do more than these two.

Imam Muslim said, if Anas (RA) wanted to make a dua, he would also make that dua. In another narration of Anas bin Malik (RA), he was told by a Tabi’ee called ‘Sabit’ that his brothers wished him to make a little dua for them, so he made the above dua.

La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah meaning and benefits

Narrated Anas (RA):

He said, Allah’s Messenger, (SAW), called a Muslim patient; who was greatly frightened by his illness. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to him, “Do you ask God for anything through Du’r?” The man said yes. And that is that I am making dua to Allah Ta’ala, that He may not punish me in the Hereafter but punish me in this world as soon as possible. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, Subhanallah! Oh! You can’t bear it. Why are you ‘Rabbana Atina . . . . . Waqina ‘Azaban Nar’ – do you not make this dua to Allah? Rabi said, After these two means, Allah Ta’ala freed the said man from illness and pain and cured him.

Subhanallah! The discussed verses and the mentioned hadiths prove that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray for the world’s welfare and the hereafter through his Mubarak du’a as both the world and the hereafter are essential for human beings. He said in the Qur’an that this is the will and will of Allah. Through the Magi, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and all the believers taught the words of prayer for the welfare of this world, the welfare of the Hereafter, and liberation from Hell. So that doing one does not make the other lighter.

So, in conclusion, Allah Wali’s poem, written in Persian, is rightly recommended here. The poet says: In this world is not my real friend, but I have to take the help of the world while doing the work of my best friend Allah. For this, as much privacy is necessary, staying within the limits of halal and haram, just as much worldliness is not polluting. Rather, it is required.
