What is the meaning of Shirk in Islam? Who is Mushrik?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim; Today’s topic of discussion is What is the meaning of Shirk in Islam and Who is Mushrik?

What is the meaning of Shirk in Islam?

Shirk is an Arabic word. The literal meaning of shirk is partner, equivalent, equivalence. In the technical sense, shirk is the name of associating or equating or equating someone else with Allah in any of the descriptions of the names and attributes that Allah Ta’ala has taught us through the Qur’an and Sahih Hadith. Shirk is the greatest sin that cannot be forgiven without repentance.

Shirk is the opposite of Tauhid. Tawheed is the oneness of all the names and attributes of Allah Ta’ala.

Tauhid is the name of a real and true state. Adherence to Tauhid is Ibadat and non-adherence to Tauhid means shirk.

Tawhid meaning in Islam. Importance of Tawheed

Types of Shirk in Islam

It is not advisable to divide shirk into small and large. Shirk, whether small or large, is a great sin. The division between small and large seems to indicate that Muslims today do not consider the so-called minor shirk to be a sin. They do not seem to have any importance in refraining from it and thinking there is no problem with the small head. But shirk, whether small or large, is a terrible sin that must be avoided.

Shirk is Kufr. And there are different forms of disbelief. Kufr can be small or big in appearance. But both cause terrible damage.

Few people do not believe in God. They are worshipers of the mind. So they belong to the polytheists. All but a handful of atheists acknowledge God. GOD is our Creator, our Lord, our Sustainer. He is the Mighty, the Wise. But the main problem here is that they associate others with Allah in these matters. Sometimes he thinks that Allah’s creation is compatible with him. The polytheists of Makkah used to acknowledge Allah, but they thought that we were the worst sinners, so Allah would not answer our prayers. So they worshiped various gods as if they were interceding for them. May Allah forgive them. Today we see that blindness exists even among Muslims. A group of Muslims who are worshiping pirs and shrines. That they may be ascetics, intercessors with Allah.

People acknowledge God but do not acknowledge the oneness of God.

Although they accept the oneness of God in the matter of Rububiyah, most people do not accept the oneness of God in the matter of worship. That is, he obeys Allah in some matters but disobeys others. So they belong to the polytheists. It is not correct to divide shirk into three parts. Such as Shirke Rabubiyyat, Shirke Uluhiyyat, Shirke Asma Wa Sefat.

The true meaning of Tawheed can be understood only by understanding the name and attributes of Allah, that is, La Ilaha Illallah, that is, there is no god but Allah. And only then can shirk be better understood. So we must first know the identity of God well. Only then will I be able to recognize shirk.

Who is Mushrik in Islam?

Those who associate or associate or equate or reconcile with Allah in any matter of the names and attributes of Allah mentioned in the Qur’an and Sahih Hadith are mushriks. Maybe it is in the faith or words or deeds of the heart. Allah will never forgive those who die in polytheism, and they will abide in Hell forever.
