Al Wahid Name of Allah meaning
Al Wahid is an attributive name of Allah. This name means single, unique. Allah the Almighty has no partner, companion, father, child, imitation, or precedent. He is the only being in all things.
Allah the Almighty said,
Say, “What thing is greatest in testimony?” Say, “Allah is witness between me and you. And this Qur’an was revealed to me that I may warn you thereby and whomever it reaches. Do you [truly] testify that with Allah there are other deities?” Say, “I will not testify [with you].” Say, “Indeed, He is but one God, and indeed, I am free of what you associate [with Him].”
(Surah al An’am: verse — 19)
If Allah had intended to take a son, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Exalted is He; He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
(Surah Jumar: verse — 4)
He quoted the saying of Yusuf (as):
O [my] two companions of prison, are separate lords better or Allah, the One, the Prevailing?
(Surah Yusuf: Ayat — 39)
He commanded his last prophet, saying:
Say, [O Muhammad], “I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
(Surah Sad: verse — 65)
Allah the Almighty further said,
And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
(Surat al-Baqara: Ayat — 163)
This verse with the name Al Wahid has been identified as Isme Azam.
If there was a second god in this world, it would be a disaster. God the Almighty testified that
Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
(Surah Ambiya: Ayat — 22)
He added,
Allah has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have sought to overcome others. Exalted is Allah above what they describe [concerning Him].
(Surah Al-Mu’minun: verse — 91)
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, “Three”; desist – it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
(Surah An-Nisa: verse 171)
Say, “Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing.”
(Surah Rad: verse — 16)
And all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
(Surah Ibrahim: verse — 48)
Say, “It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?”
(Surah Ambiya: Ayat — 108)
For your god is one God, so to Him submit.
(Surat al-Hajj: 34)
